Captains' Drive In 2009

Lady Captain Sandra & Captain Sean will be holding their drive-in on Sunday

15th February 2009. This occasion will also mark the start of our 20th

Year Celebrations.

A draw for partners will be at 10.30am, followed by a Nine Hole Scramble

and a reception. The scramble will be held weather permitting, but the

Drive In reception & photos will go ahead regardless.

Our Captains would welcome your support.

Women in Sport Initiative 2008

Photo shows participants on the Women in Sport Initiative at Castlegregory Golf Club in the summer of 2008, with John Sugrue (Golf instructor), Edel Randles (Organiser - 2nd from right), and lady members. This hugely successful programme was aimed at beginner lady golfers and was designed to introduce them to the game of golf. The programme was enjoyed by all and resulted in a number of new lady beginner members at Castlegregory. See photos below for some of them in action. Wonderful style and follow through....the lessons obviously worked. Well done and thanks to John Sugrue, Edel and all the lady members who assisted. Edel informs us that she is hoping to start a similar programme in 2009 and places are now available. To participate you must be female, a beginner with no handicap and not a member of any golf club. 2^nd Donagh Shanahan, Tom Ferriter & Derry O’Mahony - 80 pts.

Fixtures:

Sun 11^th Jan – Round 1 of Spring League - 18 Hole Stableford. Timesheet.

Spring League consists of six rounds over the next six Sundays. The best four cards for each competitor counts. Prizes for the top 10 in the league table after the final round. No playoff. One prize also for the best score each Sunday.
