The Ladies' competition will be played on both Thursday and Friday next (1^st and 2^nd Jan).  Ladies can join the men's 9.30 shotgun start on Thursday but must ensure they play holes 1-13.  Normal draw on Friday at 10.00 am. On Sunday next 4th January there will be an 18 hole mixed classic with draw at 8.30 sharp-shotgun start.

The ladies had a very enjoyable and successful Christmas Party Night at the Meadowlands Hotel last Friday night. It was good to see many of the new members attending and all danced till they dropped to the lively music of The Celebrations.

The following morning found 18 tired but enthusiastic members who braved the arctic conditions to play a fore-shortened 4 hole competition for the generously sponsored Christmas Prizes. Thanks must go to our much appreciated sponsors Joan Ferriter and Maryrose Binchy who, once again, came up trumps for the club. Results:

The Ladies also greatly appreciate the fabulous hamper sponsored by the Men's Seniors which was played for on Friday Dec. 5th and Sun. Dec 7th. Results:

Frost caused the start of the Mens’ fourball competition to delayed until 10.30 a.m. on Sunday 7^th Dec. The competition was shortened to 12 holes. The Ladies also had to delay their starting time to allow the Men to complete. This did not deter Edel Randles who hit a sparkling 25 pts to win the Senior mens’ sponsored hamper, with Kathleen Hennessy and Helen Besseling taking the rest of the Christmas goodies on offer.  In the Men’s fourball, slick oil baron JR and the fast talking Mitchels supporter Colm Sheehy worked all the gears to clock up a nifty 29 pts. This was good enough to take the chequered flag on countback from Pat ‘Radar’ Doody and his sometimes Bruen co-pilot George Nash.
