Captains' Drive-In 2008


Lady Captain Merlyn O'Connor, Men's President Ger Callanan and Club Captain Mike Williams at their drive-in on Sunday 20th January 2008. This photo appears to be the first ever taken at the club's new dome-like indoor golf complex. The mounded fairway and background sky-effect walls almost seem real. The people hanging about in a daze in the background are actually real - they're just feeling the effects of the pancakes, maple syrup and hot whiskeys. Result of Captains Drive In Scramble

With a welcome break in the monsoon season, there was huge turnout of members for the Captains’ Drive In on Sunday 20th January. Mike and Merlyn scrubbed up really well for their big day and both hit massive drives down the fairway. The Drive In was followed by a very enjoyable 9-hole mixed scramble. Having warmed up with the drive-in, Merlyn made her intentions clear for the year by leading her team to victory in the scramble. Is this a sign of things to come for our club teams in 2008?

 

After the scramble, Mike and Merlyn presided at a very impressive spread and social gathering...an excellent start to what promises to be an exciting year for the club. Well done and thanks Mike and Merlyn, and thanks also to the Ladies and Men’s Club Committees.

SPRING LEAGUE STARTS SUNDAY 27TH JANUARY 2008

 

In a Singles Stableford format similar to last year the C&C Cleaners, Tralee (John Carroll) sponsored Spring League will commence on Sunday 27 January 2008 and will run for 4 consecutive weeks. The individual Stableford scores will be added each week with each players best three scores contributing to his position in the overall league table at the end of week 4.  The top 18 in the league table will then play in the final play-off on Sunday 24 February 2008 with the winner of the final play-off receiving the Spring League Champions Medal.

 

Each of the Spring League events will be a Shotgun Start with the draw on each Sunday at 8.15am sharp and the Shotgun Start at 8.30am.

Men's Spring League 2008

 

SPRING LEAGUE STARTS SUNDAY 27 JANUARY 2008

 

In a Singles Stableford format similar to last year the C&C Cleaners, Tralee (John Carroll) sponsored Spring League will commence on Sunday 27 January 2008 and will run for 4 consecutive weeks.
